Small world

He was always told that it was a small world, growing up it felt that way too. Daily life rarely left the confines of a cul-de-sac. Even the smallest of city light felt like a supernova and yet “it’s a small world”, that’s what he was told. A culture of minimising as not to overwhelm only led him minimise his pain, he thought that in a world so small that someone would notice. It is a small world, so small that I’m the only one in it. A world of his own creation where he believes all the anxieties and rejects the truth.

Will was 15 when he took thirty paracetamol, he didn’t really want to die but at 02:03 on the 26th of June that didn’t matter, he just wanted stop feeling. At 2:04 his small world was changed forever. In reality, the world isn’t small. It’s impossibly big, bigger than He could comprehend and that terrified him. After a lifetime of being told that the world is small a realisation this big was going to take a while to come to terms with.

Peace in community
You know it when you feel it
Indescribable Warmth
Inconvenience the price
Paid willingly

All the pieces of me
Each building a picture
A jigsaw
I can see it now
Memories, Experiences, Lessons
Snap together

Lights out
Feeling for the shape
Gone
Lost in the dark
A hand, hands
A torch

As one
A new being
A new puzzle
Re-formed into a masterpiece
Never Finished
